Join Our Seasonal Sorting Team at South Kolan
Macadamia Farm Management (MFM) is gearing up for another busy season, and we’re looking for motivated people to join us as Sorting Assistants at our South Kolan processing facility.
If you’re looking for hands-on work, a supportive team environment and the chance to build skills in a growing agricultural industry, this could be a great fit.
What does a Sorting Assistant do?
Sorting Assistants play an important role in making sure our macadamias meet premium quality standards before they reach our customers.
In this role, you will:
- sort macadamias as they move through the processing line
- check moisture levels and record simple information
- support the production team with day-to-day tasks
- help keep the work area organised and running smoothly
You’ll spend most of the shift on your feet, working around conveyor belts and other processing equipment. The work requires good hand-eye coordination, attention to detail and the ability to stay focused.
Because the role involves working around moving machinery, it’s also important that you’re comfortable with motion and not prone to motion sickness.
Where and when is the work?
Our processing facility is located in South Kolan, just a short 15-minute drive from Bundaberg.
These Sorting Assistant positions are seasonal, running from March through August, with morning and afternoon shifts available. For the right people, there may also be opportunities for off-season work.
A supportive team and real opportunities
At MFM, we believe people are just as important as production. We put strong emphasis on safety, teamwork and doing the job well.
Many of our current team members first joined us in seasonal roles and went on to explore other opportunities across the business — including processing, farm support and machine operation. If you’re reliable, willing to learn and enjoy practical work, seasonal employment can become an excellent pathway to long-term opportunities.
You don’t need previous macadamia or agriculture experience — we provide the training you need to work safely and confidently.
Who will enjoy this role?
Sorting Assistant roles tend to suit people who are:
- practical and hands-on
- comfortable working on their feet
- detail-focused and observant
- reliable, punctual and safety-conscious
- happy working both independently and as part of a team
If you like staying busy, enjoy routine tasks and take pride in doing things properly, you’ll likely feel right at home.
Why work with MFM?
MFM manages orchards and operations across the Bundaberg region and beyond, supplying the growing Australian macadamia industry. Being part of our team means contributing to a premium product while gaining skills in a stable, forward-looking sector.
We offer:
- on-the-job training
- a friendly and supportive work environment
- potential pathways into other roles
- meaningful work in a locally based industry
How to apply
Applying is simple.
Just head to our listing on SEEK, upload your CV and answer a few short screening questions. Our team will be in touch with suitable applicants as the season approaches.
